Did I mention they got much too much? lol
The weather was fantastic.... spring has been skipped, we are already having summer! So, after dinner (which is at noon here), we remained the rest of the day in the yard. Frank and I set up some portable tents, which the girls claimed as their playhouse while it was half built...
As you can see, they had already removed their "dress" clothes and decided to conquer a dirt mountain... with the expected dirty results...
Later on, my son Carsten arrived with his family, including his MIL and Karen's nephew from India, who had just arrived the day before...
and I got to "play" grandma again!
My bunny cake turned out a big hit and the whole day turned out to be fun.
Today, which is also a holiday (Easter Monday), I spent perparing my guest room for installing a new closet... remember, you buy and install them yourself, they are NOT built in! That has the advantage, that you can re-arrange the furniture, including closets, as you wish. I also did some music recording for my dance class AND read a book! Multi-tasking at it's finest!
I've read that a number of my readers had a really lousy Easter weekend.
I wish you all could have joined us.....
Dorrie
Those tents are awesome, they look like the perfect fort! I'm glad you all had such a nice one. This is the first year in 20 years (for me) that I haven't had a child for Easter. We got Em and Jamie a chocolate bunny (and Cadbury eggs) but Jamie went to her BF's house and Em stayed with Bill's sister.
ReplyDeleteIt was a romantic Easter, though.
Enjoy the rest of your day, Dorrie!
Playing grandparent is always delightful.
ReplyDeleteI had a great Resurrection Sunday.
Now on with the rest of the week. I am preaching for the next two Sunday's at a church about 15 miles east of here as they are between preachers.
What fun!!! Glad you all enjoyed Easter.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you had a nice time - looks like beautiful weather. It rained here much of Saturday, and I woke up to snow on the ground Easter morning! It melted quickly but was still gray and cold for most of the day :(
ReplyDeleteLots and lots of fun times!!!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great Easter and thanks for sharing the photos with us, D! :D
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, as always. Looks like a great time was had by all. Good for you! Hugs.
ReplyDeleteIm so glad you had a great time with your family. (((hugs)))
ReplyDeleteTruly wonderful photos, Dorrie. I still can't believe that Germany is already so warm and green. Your pictures look like they were taken in June, not April.
ReplyDeleteSigh- you make me wish that I had a real family togetherness in my life, but alas, that has never been the case. It must be wonderful to have a loving, close family. I'm happy for you though. God bless. :)
I love how in the first two, they're not looking at the camera and smiling, they're checking out their loot! :)
ReplyDeleteOh I remember how much fun we could have with a great big dirtpile or a big sandpile. Really fun times. The funny part was, we didn't notice how dirty we were until we got home and our mothers told us!
Also, thank you for being you... I do appreciate you, thanks for being who you are and for caring like you do. But I have to say, you're nowhere near old enough to be my Grandma Westy - you're more like AUNT Westy!
Love the photos. We live with so much bounty -- do we not? {{I wonder how children in the impoverished segments of Mexico (etc.) would react upon seeing an Easter-egg table just for children -- such as the one you displayed -- filled with so much luxurious colorful and delicious candy.}}
ReplyDeleteOh -- I felt jealous to see your sunshine photos. It just poured rain here . . . from the ocean to the mountain tops and beyond.
ReplyDeletethank you ALL for the lovely comments!
ReplyDeleteThe weather today was once again fantastic... up to 77°F., more like summer then spring. WEIRD and scary!
The elevator in my apartment building broke down today, with me in it! Luckily the door was half open and I could get out, but now I couldn't carry the parts of my new closet upstairs! 8 floors? forget it! *snif* tomorrow it's supposed to get repaired....
I hope everyone is having a great week!
Sun.. I wish we could send all that to Mexico but unfortunately it would be bad by the time it arrived. Yes, we are spoiled!
Ah, the good old days when I was a child and would get a basket full of goodies. Now I have to buy them myself :-)
ReplyDeleteMy easter also contained a great big dirt pile. Our days were quite similar.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you all had such a nice day! And the children are darling!! *smiling*
ReplyDeleteThose Easter pictures are great. I ate FAR too much chocolate, but to be fair, a lot of that was boredom eating to stay awake during the night on the plane :P
ReplyDeleteI've come to see these shots several times now. They make me happy.
ReplyDeleteand thank the rest of you for the lovely comments. Bursti, I'm glad they make you smile!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Westy-Woman! I just had the most PROFOUND Easter flashback while viewing these pics. They reminded me of the Holiday as seen thru a the joy of a child's eyes. I've totally forgotten this, but I thank you & your lovely family for reminding me. *smiling widely*
ReplyDeleteSJ!
One.
