Germany in shock... school massacre

What's the world coming to?

This morning I heard about the shooting in Alabama, and came home from work to hear about a school massacre which happened near Stuttgart here in Germany. You can read about it at CNN.

Seventeen students, teachers, passer-bys, auto salesmen, and the killer himself. His father was a member of a local shooting club, and there were many weapons in their home.

I HATE GUNS!!

They don't know yet WHY....

Seven years ago we had a school massacre in Erfurt... also 17 students and teachers got killed. The memories of that killing are re-appearing. Killer was, like in today's case, a former student. In Erfurt the killer killed himself, in today's shooting the police shot him. He was 17 years old.

  1. My condolences to Germany for this tragic loss.

I don't know, Dorrie, it's just pure evil. And this is happening too much in our world. I'm so scared as a parent, wife, friend...who will be next?

All I know to do is just pray harder. The victims in Alabama and Germany, along with their grieving families and friends are in my prayers.

  2. I read the story about Alabama, soon after I saw the story about the shootings in Germany. I have not been able to bring myself to read that story.
I just don't get it...if you are that miserable go ahead and kill yourself, why must they kill so many other innocent people?
Both are horrific stories. Very sad world we live in.

  3. How tragic for both Germany and Alabama. What's going on in the world? School shootings are becoming way too common. Is life really that bad, are you that desperate, that you can't seek help in others ways than killing innocent people? The world is getting to be a scarier place all the time. My thoughts and prayers are with all victims and their families. Hugs.

  8. Awful,

We just has a mass killing in Alabama as well.

This environment continues to spiral out of control and crazy desperate things like this will be more common until we as a world reach some kind of equilibrium.

This kind of thing makes me sick and very sad...

  12. I have my theories but it is useless to say. Nothing undoes the damage. Thoroughly considering prevention would have to face the undoing of a great deal of modern civilization's thinking and direction. It is hard to face the fact that there are aberrant people and some subliminal glorification of destruction. The number of people harmed with each innocent person harmed is huge.

  13. There has been so much of this thing in the last few years! Locally, Sunday, a 27 year old man walked into a church service and killed the preacher during his sermon. There are just so many things wrong with the world in so many ways right now.

Prayers to all the families and to all of us trying to make sense of it all.
